"Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not."
-Oscar Wild
As most of you might now, this is the time for breaks, in other words, winter break has finally arrived and I am free...to some extent at least. Right now, I'm listening to the whining, complaining voice of my guest and hoping the playing Pachelbel's Canon in D will drown off her voice as she continues to scream about how we are the sorriest Asian children with SAT scores of 1800 and semester averages of 98s. She's actually drowning in self-pity thinking about how her job sucks, her children are dumb, and how her life pretty much sucks. Come on lady! Even my pessimistic nature isn't as bad as yours! Well, the quote pretty much sums up what I want to tell her and what my parents are currently telling her. WHY ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT YOUR LIFE WHEN THERE ARE PEOPLE STARVING IN AFRICA?!?!?! WHY ARE YOU COMPLAINING WHEN PEOPLE DON'T HAVE A HOME BECAUSE THEY WERE KICKED OUT BY THEIR FAMILY?!?!? WHY ARE YOU COMPLAINING WHEN MORE ASIANS GET ACCEPTED INTO COLLEGES THEN WHITE PEOPLE?!?!?! Maybe you should just let it all go and not worry about it because it's not going to do you any good. All you are doing is pushing your child away from who he really is. Why must you complain when you are part of the top 8% of the world? Why must we push ourselves to be the best? What comes from it? Our pride? Our ego?

PS I drifted off topic. Sorry...:)
